Kickstarting the new year with style, Dublin’s rising rap artist Craig Cooney ushers us into a melodic rap soundscape filled with buttery vocals and thought-provoking lyricism, the Dublin native takes his sound to new heights on the single produced by Chris Kabs (featured on FIFA 20 soundtrack and Normal People tv series). The single encapsulates the struggles some women face with insecurity and self-love. Craig Cooney explains “The song is about a girl who doesn’t see her full potential. She feels insecure and doesn’t realise she is deeply loved. I know many women face this issue daily around the world. The original idea sprung from wanting to write a song for my 5-year-old daughter. I want her to realise that she really motivates me to do my best and that I will always be with her on my life journey supporting her and reminding her that she is amazing.

As one of Ireland’s most promising upcoming acts, Craig Cooney is known for his unique storytelling, heartfelt lyrics, and impressive flow. With each release he has innovated his sound and pushed creative boundaries, playing headline shows in major venues across the country. In recent months, he’s co-directed and soundtracked “Vultures,” an award-winning short film highlighting the reality of knife violence in Ireland.
